ONA Austin: Producing Great Video for the Web

  When

Monday, Apr. 23, 2012

An ONA Local event, hosted by ONA Austin

For the April meeting, ONA Austin has a new location and two superstars of online video production: Jorge Sanhueza-Lyon and Burnie Burns.

Jorge was a video journalist at the Austin American-Statesman for more than seven years before recently joining the staff at KUT-Austin. He has won many awards over his career, and he has also been a longtime lecturer at the University of Texas-Austin School of Journalism. Jorge will show off some of his work and talk about the process he goes through in shooting and producing online videos.

Burnie is an independent filmmaker who has become an Internet celebrity thanks to the popular work he has done with his company, Rooster Teeth Productions. He created the wildly successful machinima series Red vs. Blue, and has also appeared at the Sundance and The Sydney Film Festival. He will explain what Rooster Teeth does, how it came about, and what machinima means.

The new location is 2110 San Jacinto Blvd, Austin, Texas, on the University of Texas campus, at the home of the Texas Exes (in the Legends room). There will be a cash bar and free parking under the building for the first 50 cars. There’s paid parking in the Trinity garage down the street.

This will be a great event, and everyone is welcome.
