Get inspired by the six winners of the new AP-Google Journalism & Technology Scholarship for the 2012-13 academic year. Each of these undergrad and graduate students received $20,000 in recognition of their innovative projects that blend news-making with computer science. We’re highlighting a scholar each day this week; see profiles of Katie Zhu, Rebecca Rolfe and John Osborn and check journalists.org throughout the week. ONA12 Session Selector voting closes April 12
Just two more days left to vote on the conference sessions community members submitted through the ONA12 Session Selector. Did you submit a session? Now is a perfect time to let your networks know and ask them to upvote your idea. After April 12, the ONA12 program committee will take the voting results and commenting into consideration when making final session decisions.

ONACamp Montana, free digital training this Friday
Last chance to register for ONACamp Montana, a free day of training. Join us this Friday, April 13, at the University of Montana in Missoula. Learn new skills like effective strategies and tools for digital storytelling, mobile tools for reporting, producing video for web and more in this full day of workshops geared at digital journalists. Participants will also have the chance to engage in one-on-one discussions about how to improve your business model and focus your mission with Ken Sands, editor at Bloomberg Government and longtime news executive. Special thanks to the Gannett Foundation for providing funding and the University of Montana School of Journalism for helping to organize this great event.
JournoCamp in Phoenix
Join ONA and SPJ for a day of digital training May 18 at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism in Phoenix, Ariz. Learn to speak geek, access public records on the fly and understand entrepreneurial journalism in this one-day workshop for professional journalists. Come for the practical training sessions and enjoy networking with other journalists from the area. Cost is $20 for ONA or SPJ members, $40 for non-members. Fellowships and awards
Etsy hacker grants
Etsy, along with New York-based Hacker School, has a new scholarship and sponsorship program for women in tech which includes $50,000 in Etsy Hacker Grants. The program will bring 20 women pursuing engineering jobs to New York and is focused on bringing more women into engineering positions at Etsy and across the industry. 2012 National Health Journalism Fellowship
Three different reporting fellowships to support reporting on health issues are currently being offered by the California Endowment Health Journalism Fellowships. They range from $2,000-$10,000. Application deadline is April 16.
Elizabeth Neuffer Fellowship
The Elizabeth Neuffer Fellowship is open to women journalists whose focus is human rights and social justice. One woman journalist will be selected to spend seven months in a tailored program with access to MIT’s Center for International Studies as well as media outlets including The Boston Globe and The New York Times. Applicants must be dedicated to a career in journalism in print, broadcast or online media. A stipend will be provided, and expenses, including airfare and housing, will be covered. Application deadline is April 30.
RTDNA Fellowships
The Radio Television Digital News Association has four different reporting fellowships available for journalists who have less than ten years of professional reporting experience. The awards range from $1,000-$2,000. Application deadline is May 31.
