Call for focus group participants at ONA17

By on September 6, 2017

The Online News Association’s mission to inspire innovation and excellence among digital journalists worldwide is at the heart of what we do every day. There’s never been a more important time to strategically and intentionally think about our future and the needs of our diverse community.

As we develop our next strategic plan, we’ll be doing a deep dive into who we are, where we’re going and who we want to be. Most importantly, we’ll be asking what you need from us.

We’re looking for volunteers to share their opinions about ONA, as well as discuss the strengths and challenges we face now and in the future. Selected volunteers will participate in one in-person 90-minute focus group led by representatives from Velma Hart & Associates, a strategic planning and organizational design firm. The focus groups will take place at the Marriott Wardman Park during ONA17, Oct. 4-7, in Washington, DC. To volunteer, please complete the volunteer form no later than Friday, Sept. 22.

We want to include a variety of voices and opinions, so participants do not have to be ONA members or conference attendees. However, you must be available to participate in-person for the focus groups (we’ll schedule the day and time if you’re selected). Each focus group participant will receive a $25 gift card as a small token of thanks.

We have a limited number of spots available, but there will be plenty of opportunities to share your thoughts with us if you’re not selected.

On behalf of the ONA Board of Directors and staff, thanks in advance for your time.
