We’re incredibly excited to open entries for the 2018 Online Journalism Awards!
This year’s awards feature 37 categories and $58,500 in prize money. As you gather your work, we’d like to remind you of key updates to the categories and submission rules:
We’re also excited for the Excellence in Audio Digital Storytelling and Excellence in Immersive Storytelling awards to return for a second year as the industry continues to experience tremendous growth in both areas. Last year’s finalists included: FRONTLINE, NPR, STAT, Reveal, AIR and Fusion Media Group.
We continue to encourage journalists and news teams from around the world to participate. In 2017, we received entries from more than 30 countries, and winners for each size category of the General Excellence award represented non-U.S. organizations.
Lastly, for the fourth consecutive year, we are proud to give out the James Foley Award for Conflict Reporting. This honor will recognize a single journalist who has performed exceptional work while covering an ongoing conflict, war zone or other challenging setting. A separate committee will select the nominees and the final recipient.
The submissions deadline is Thursday, June 7, 2018 with a reminder that for the second year we will not have an extension. Be sure to review the full rules and eligibility.
We wish you the best of luck and look forward to receiving your entry.
