We’re eager to celebrate the winners and finalists of the 2023 Online Journalism Awards (#OJA23)! Launched in May 2000, the Online Journalism Awards are the only comprehensive set of journalism prizes honoring excellence in digital journalism around the world.
This year’s awards honor 194 finalists in 23 categories. Six of the awards come with $57,000 in prizes, thanks to 3M, the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, the University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication, the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications, McKinsey Publishing and SmartNews. These categories celebrate science reporting, public service journalism, community-centered journalism, investigative data journalism, climate change reporting and general excellence.
Let’s dive into all the information you need to follow along as we cheer on the 2023 honorees.
Join us for a virtual celebration for this year’s finalists and winners in 17 of the 23 categories on Aug. 17 at 1 p.m. EDT. We’ll be hosting this event on Zoom; registered attendees will receive a meeting link prior to the event.
