ReNews is a pre-launch data journalism newsroom which will support a dramatically different experience of hard news. Our business model includes no advertising and economically progressive subscriptions to benefit citizens in disadvantaged communities and news deserts.
We call our members Citizens, not consumers because we aren’t trying to sell them anything. We are journalists building a viable business model and citizen-experience of news and civic engagement. Ultimately we will be a news organization owned by citizens and individual journalists and controlled by them, not a publisher hooked on ads and the news cycle.
