Join us Tuesday, July 23, 2019, in New York City for the Journalism 360 Unconference and Demos, a unique gathering of creators, producers, newsroom leaders and technologists working on immersive storytelling.
Many thanks to The Knight-Bagehot Fellowship in Economics and Business Journalism for hosting us at Columbia University.
Jamie Pallot, co-founder of Emblematic, and Marcelle Hopkins, co-director, Immersive Journalism at The New York Times, will kick off the day with a conversation about the state of immersive journalism, moderated by Shazna Nessa, deputy managing editor, global head of visuals at The Wall Street Journal.
You’ll hear from industry leaders as we explore applications of 360 video, augmented reality, virtual reality and mixed reality in news. You will get a chance to see demos of the immersive projects supported by the 2018 Journalism 360 Challenge. And importantly, you’ll have a chance to share your ideas and collaborate with others who are passionate about what’s happening in the immersive space.
Have an idea you’d like to talk about or an issue that you’re really hoping we’ll discuss? You can let us know as you complete your registration.
Your ticket includes both the Journalism 360 Unconference and the Demos, which will be at Columbia University on July 23.
The morning will feature conversations about the state of immersive journalism and workshops. In the afternoon, we’ll host interactive conversations about the issues you’re passionate about. And to close out the day, you’ll see demos and hear about Journalism 360 projects.
A light breakfast and lunch will be served, as well as light refreshments during the demos at the end of the day.
