ONACamp Indianapolis will provide attendees with practical tips on how to better engage their communities online and on mobile devices with sessions on creating video for web, using analytics to inform editorial decisions, managing breaking news and user-generated content and more.
ONACamps are free intensive digital journalism training sessions from the Online News Association, courtesy of generous renewed grants from the Gannett Foundation. The ONACamp sessions are tailored specifically to the needs of local journalists, responding to community feedback on which training sessions would be most useful in the area.

Opening Session: Building News With A Community
We’ll examine how newsrooms around the country are using new ways to respond to community needs and how readers and viewers can participate in making decisions about what types of coverage your organization provides. We’ll also look at how the editorial process can be more transparent to the community and get examples of effective community engagement.
