The Hospitality Coordinator is a volunteer role, which is responsible for making sure attendees feel welcome at ONA Local events. Most of the responsibilities are before and during events.
This role is great for you if:
- You’re a detail-oriented planner
- You’re a natural connector who’s obsessed with creating inclusive and accessible environments
- You want the opportunity to get to know a wide range of journalism professionals in your region
Responsibilities include:
- Scope out venues, book venues, or create virtual venues (e.g. Zoom rooms)
- Greet attendees
- Order food and beverages, as needed
- Set up
- Assist with A/V set-up for speakers
- Facilitate icebreakers and introductions
- Manage event volunteers, as needed
