Alana is Engagement Editor at the Financial Times. She works on strategies to grow the reach and impact of FT journalism and promotes innovation in the newsroom, helping editorial teams understand their existing audiences and find new readers. She began her career in her native Canada as a journalist at the Montreal Gazette, going on to run a digital news team. She later worked at a UX agency and now brings that user-centred approach back to journalism.
