Mimi is a researcher using data and code to explore new forms of storytelling, social critique and interaction. Recently she served as a Research Fellow at Columbia University’s Tow Center for Digital Journalism, where she co-authored “Guide to Crowdsourcing”, a guide to the essentials of using crowdsourced information for journalistic data gathering. Currently, she is a fellow at the Data & Society Research Institute, where she is combining ethnographic research methods with emerging data practices to investigate missing datasets and strategies for crowdsourced data collection. She is also an Adjunct Professor at NYU.
