Are you looking to satisfy your inner sports fan over the next couple of days?

Well, we here in the student newsroom have created a list of sports-ing options for you over the next few days.  Here are a few options to consider:

NFL fans

Do you know what day it is? Thursday Night Football! The New England Patriots take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers tonight. Ventnor Sports Cafe 2411 18th St NW, Washington, DC 20009. Less than a mile from ONA. Eight minute walk from the Marriott Wardman.

Hoops fans

If you have a full day attending panels, networking, and running around at ONA, why not give yourself a big treat and go to the Washington Wizards vs New York Knicks pre-season game tomorrow night? The Capital One Arena is only three miles away from the convention hotel. You can take a short 20 minute Lyft or Uber ride or catch the Metro or find directions to the arena.

Baseball Fans

Have you ever wanted to watch a playoff game in person? Tomorrow night is your time to do so. The Washington Nationals are playing the Chicago Cubs at Nationals Park in D.C for Game 1 of the National League Division Series (be prepared for high prices). The Metro is easily accessible to get to the park. Details: 6.7 miles miles from convention hotel or a 30-minute drive.

College Football

Wisconsin Badger fans
There are a number of Badger hangouts throughout the city. The Badgers take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers Saturday night. Not interested in walking? Take the Metro to Lou’s City Bar, 1400 Irving St NW, Washington D.C. or Hamilton’s Bar & Grill, 233 2ND St NW, Washington D.C.

Penn State football
The Nittany Lions are taking on the Northwestern Wildcats Saturday afternoon. Here is where to watch and Tortoise & Hare Bar and Grill at 567 23rd St S, Arlington, VA 22202, or Sign of the Whale, 825 M St NW, Washington, DC 20036.

Clemson football
Baltimore/Washington region is home to one of the largest concentrations of Clemson alumni in the country. Join the Clemson Club this Saturday at noon as The Clemson Tigers take on the Wake Forest Demon Deacons.

Georgia Football
The Georgia Bulldogs take on the Vanderbilt Commodores Saturday at noon. Catch the game at Penn Quarter Sports Tavern, 639 Indiana Ave. NW Washington, DC 20004.

Alabama Football
The Alabama Crimson Tide are taking on Texas A&M Aggies Saturday night, and I am pleased to announce that Willie’s Brew ‘n Que in Navy Yards, DC is the perfect watch party destination for Alabama fans.

If you’re into restaurant ambience and hotel prices, there is always the option to stay here at The Stone’s Throw Restaurant and Bar.
