And you\u2019re right.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn my experience the moment you\u2019re unplugged something happens,\u201d says Emily Bell (@emilybell).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would recommend to journalists that they go off line, but only when they\u2019re on holiday. Otherwise you\u2019re immersed all the time. One of the hardest things that we have to cope with now is the fact that this is an immersive business and finding space for yourself between what\u2019s happening all the time and thinking about things in a wider context is one of the hardest things we have to do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Below, a few more panelists and attendees spoke about whether they take a break from the digital world and how they like to unwind after long days staring at a screen.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_871\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-871\" style=\"width: 500px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-871\" alt=\"COUNTLESS HOURS OF SCANDAL: \u201cI spent the whole conference attached to twitter like it\u2019s my job. These days when something breaks, it\u2019s on Twitter. It\u2019s a part of our job in a breaking news environment, it\u2019s really hard to do, but I do think for our own mental health. Sometimes we need to step back and see the bigger picture.
