The Suggestion Box is closed. Thanks to all who took this opportunity to help shape conversations and present at our annual conference. Anyone could submit a proposal and all submissions were read and reviewed by a volunteer review committee, the ONA21 Program Team.
The deadline for submissions was April 15, 2021.
Each year, the ONA conference seeks to share best practices, practical tips and inspiring talks for those working in journalism.

Before you make your proposal, consider the following questions:
- Who is your target audience, how can you keep them engaged and what would you like them to walk away with once the session is over?
- What solutions to common issues have you been working on that other newsrooms might also be able to adapt to their work?
Keep in mind that these suggestions are often a starting point for discussions about the topics that will be covered at the conference. ONA will often ask presenters to refine their proposals or combine their ideas with other presenters to address a single topic.
