Tran Ha uses human-centered design to fuel audience development, organizational change and business and product strategies for start-ups, digital media organizations and non-profits. She was the founding managing director of media innovations/experiments at Stanford's Hasso Plattner Institute of Design (the d.school), where she also continues to teach classes on audience research, design and media. Tran also teaches at Northwestern University’s Farley Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, as well as Medill. She previously was editor and general manager of the Chicago Tribune's millennial-targeted RedEye publication, where she built a targeted youth readership from scratch and transformed the operation from print to digital. Tran is based in Chicago. She has a degree in journalism from the University of Minnesota and an MBA from the University of Notre Dame.
