Alex Curry is a research associate at the University of Texas at Austin Center for Media Engagement, and a doctoral candidate in UT’s Department of Communication Studies. His research interests include news, civic engagement, and the creation of community through sports. He holds a master’s degree in mass communication from Brigham Young University. From 2005 to 2010, he worked as a writer for Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
