Alexandra Manzano is Politico’s Editorial Director for Strategy and Operations where she oversees the newsroom’s digital strategy and publishing. She previously worked at the Los Angeles Times, as the Director of Audience Engagement where she helped form strategy around breaking news, enterprise reporting, video, metrics and off-platform storytelling. She was part of the team that won the 2015 Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Reporting for its coverage of the San Bernardino terrorist attack. She has lectured on journalism for the American Press Institute, Online News Association, Associated Press Media Editors and the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication. Before Los Angeles, Manzano introduced social media to The Oregonian newsroom and worked to incorporate digital storytelling strategies into traditional workflows. She has a journalism degree from Pepperdine University and really loves all kinds of chips (get out of here with that cake and cookie business).
