Allison Hageman is a journalism master’s student at Georgetown University with over three years of local lifestyle and general reporting experience. Her byline has appeared in District Fray Magazine, Alexandria Times, Capitol Standard, DCist, Delaware Today and Out & About Magazine. At Georgetown University, she has received a “Media Trust Certification,” was quoted in SPJ’s Quill, created a personal ethics code, produced a video on COVID-19’s impact on D.C.’s drag community, created/pitched a news journalism start-up for the DMV area and is Georgetown’s incoming SPJ student chapter treasurer. In the past, her professors have described her writing as having voice, perspective and an ability to paint a picture. Her journalism career started at the University of Delaware, where she was a hospitality/business major, a journalism minor and editor for the lifestyle section of the school newspaper. As a naturally curious person with many interests, she feels at home in the lifestyle section covering unique people, events and stories.
