Austin Fast is a freelance journalist with a passion for podcasts, international travel and rural America. After several years teaching English overseas with the Peace Corps and reporting for various European media, he wrote breaking news and managed social media at Cincinnati’s ABC television affiliate.
His most recent news role was covering the world’s largest wild salmon fishery for KDLG Public Radio in Alaska. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in investigative journalism at Arizona State University. Austin can recite all of Dorothy’s best zingers from The Golden Girls by heart and would be happy to eat nothing but pistachio Oreos for the rest of his life.
