Bill Monroe

Trainer • Microsoft
Last edited December 15, 2020

Bill grew up in New York, graduated from Helena, Montana’s Carroll College (Go, Talking Saints!), and spent time in Boise, ID, before life took him to the Pacific Northwest and, eventually, Microsoft. Bill has made a career of helping folks learn to use, sell, and love technology products and services as those tools make their professional and personal lives better. Bill now uses that experience to support the critical work that journalists do around the globe. Today, Bill works at Microsoft as a trainer, helping journalists use Microsoft products more effectively as they do their jobs. He works with multinational news organizations, local wire services, and everything in between. His focus is on helping them use the tools they already have to do more. In between meetings and trainings, Bill writes for the Microsoft News Blog. When he’s not working, Bill hosts and produces the Strokecast podcast where a generation X stroke survivor explores rehab, recovery, the frontiers of neuroscience, and one-handed banana peeling. His medical records describe him as “pleasant.” You can find Bill on the conference website here: https://matchmaking.grip.events/ona20everywhere/app/profile/4034333
