
Cara Hackett is a senior public relations student at Florida A&M University. During her undergraduate studies, she discovered a passion for journalism with a particular focus on state and national politics, data-driven reporting and socioeconomic concerns of underrepresented communities. Her recently discovered writing talents have led her to Harvard University where she studied under Neiman Fellows. As a journalist, she has reported on stories that range from food inequalities impacting minority communities to the horrific stories of rape that are often hidden on college campuses. Cara was named editor-in-chief of FAMU’s university newspaper, “The Famuan” in May. She is currently serving as an internal communications intern in Washington D.C. with the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association.
