Chelsea Cirruzzo is a local news reporter with Axios, authoring their Axios D.C. newsletter. Prior to Axios, she was a health care reporter with U.S. News & World Report and Inside Health Policy. Her freelance reporting on gender, health, food and entertainment has appeared in The Lily, Washington City Paper, Teen Vogue, The Washington Post, WIRED, Vice, among others. In 2020, she was a finalist for a Society of Professional Journalism, D.C. chapter award for her series on the eviction of a homeless encampment in D.C. She is a fellow with the Gerontological Society of America’s Journalists in Aging program.
