Emma Carew Grovum is an award-winning journalist and product manager. In her work, she explores the intersection of storytelling, technology, and audience at The Daily Beast. Emma is the product lead for The Beast’s bespoke, in-house content management system and publishing tools. Previously, Emma oversaw day-to-day newsroom operations as assistant managing editor, led social media strategy for the New York Times Opinion section and oversaw editorial products at Foreign Policy magazine. Emma trains fellow journalists on data visualization, social media reporting and analytics, media diversity and project management. In 2017, she completed the Asian American Journalists Association Executive Leadership Program.
