Gabrielle Muñoz has recently been named manager of the USA TODAY Network’s Sunbelt Region Digital Optimization Team, which will launch in January 2021 and develop content plans and manage breaking news for 20+ websites across four states. Muñoz previously spent 11 years at the Austin American-Statesman, most recently as digital news editor, overseeing online planning and the newsroom team that handles daily breaking news, social media, newsletters and original content targeting trending topics and SEO. She is a journalism graduate of the University of Texas and a lifelong Austinite who loves to spend her free time running around the city.
