Irene McKisson is a co-founder of AZ Luminaria, a new nonprofit news organization for Arizona. Previously, she was co-founder and editor of #ThisIsTucson — a digital vertical experimenting with audience development and digital revenue. She is a past ONA speaker; a participant in Google News Initiative programs including the Google Audience Lab and GNI Innovation Challenge; among the recipients of a 2020 Facebook Journalism Project Community Network grant and a 2019 Tow Center for Digital Journalism research grant; and just launched a membership program. She also teaches editing as an adjunct instructor at the University of Arizona and is currently helping her two kids with distance learning.
