Irene Noguchi is the Executive Producer of Opinion Audio at the New York Times (as of December 2021). She’s the outgoing Head of Audio at Politico, where she launched the flagship shows “Playbook Deep Dive,” “Dispatch,” “Global Insider” & relaunched the “Playbook Daily Briefing” with her wonderful team. She oversaw Politico’s smart speaker content, narrative projects & audio partnerships. Previously she co-launched and was the executive producer for Vox’s popular daily news podcast “Today, Explained.” She’s a former NPR producer who has worked across stations in Seattle, Las Vegas and San Francisco, covering elections, recessions, health care, race and identity, sex work, orca pods, and many other topics.
