James serves as Vice President of Communications and Strategy at Mic, a leading news and media company for young people, where he oversees all aspects of the company's brand while managing public relations, strategic communications and external affairs. Before joining Mic, James served as director of communications and chief spokesman for now-Senator Cory Booker. In 2012, as campaign manager for U.S. Congressman John Carney, Democrat of Delaware, James was responsible for all aspects of the successful statewide operation. On Capitol Hill, James was a top advisor to Congressman Carney, who introduced three bills that became law during his first term. Earlier in his career, James was a staff member on President Obama's 2008 campaign and worked as a senior account executive at Weber Shandwick, the global public relations firm. As an undergraduate, he served in the office of then-Senator Hillary Clinton, Democrat of New York. A rhetoric and communication major with a double minor in journalism and political science, he graduated with honors from the State University of New York at Albany.
