Jenny Jacklin-Stratton is a multimedia storyteller, researcher and media organizer. Currently she is Director of Editorial & Engagement at CatchLight, a visual-first non-profit media organization that believes in the power of visual storytelling to inform, connect and transform communities. In this role Jenny leads engagement strategy, community programming, and production of impact-driven media projects, most recently the launch of the pilot CatchLight Local Visual Storytelling Initiative in partnership with the GroundTruth Project.
In addition to her work at CatchLight, Jenny has worked with schools, media outlets, social justice nonprofits and grassroots organizations as a freelance visual journalist, animator, researcher and educator. She was a scholar at the Center for Environmental Filmmaking and completed a U.S. Education Department FLAS fellowship in Arabic Language and Middle Eastern Studies. As a Lewis Hine Fellow at the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University she focused on maternal healthcare and community-centered mediamaking practices.
