Jessica oversees ONA’s business development strategy, including opportunities around ONA’s global conferences, Career Center/recruiting, events, publications and digital outreach. She’s focused on connecting leaders in digital journalism with professionals in the adjacent tech, training and entrepreneurial spaces.
Jessica came to ONA after more than a decade with SmartBrief, the nation’s leading e-newsletter provider for trade associations, nonprofits and businesses. During her career with the content curator, she spent four years developing e-newsletter relationships as Director of Strategic Partnerships, and also worked as a senior editor for more than 20 b-to-b publications and led the launch of the firm’s first international editorial venture. She started her Washington, DC, digital media career as an assistant news director with USATODAY.com, in breaking news and sports-specific roles.
Jessica is a proud Maine native, graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, a member of ASAE and serves on a citizen committee for Fairfax County Public Schools. She also is the co-founder of Media Moms, a community for mothers working in news. She lives with her husband and sons in Virginia.
