I’m a student at Tulane University, with a triple major in English, Political Economy and Jewish Studies. I just returned from a semester abroad, studying in Jerusalem at the Hebrew University Rothberg International School. Through an internship at the Jerusalem Post, I saw the political conflict up close, reporting on the tense and complicated state of affairs in the world’s most contested city. I’m currently exercising my creative muscles and digital storytelling skills, pitching and writing stories for NPR. Last summer, I worked at CNN with the digital programming team to create compelling and arresting packages for our mobile viewers. Every single piece of punctuation in a headline or crop of an image was a meticulous decision that my team and I pored over. Last spring, I served as the News Editor of the Tulane Hullabaloo. During the academic year, I spend most of my free time with this student publication. At the college level, I feel our voice is vital in shaping our community and the way they receive media. Outside of journalism, I’m a music-lover and cinephile. In my free time, you can catch me DJing for WTUL New Orleans and checking out Oscar contenders at the Prytania Theatre. I also volunteer teaching swim lessons and facilitate conversations on campus as a social justice peer educator.
