Katharine is currently editor and publisher of Scene Magazine and host and editor of GreenTechBeat (greentechbeat.ning.com). In her previous position as deputy managing editor at the Mercury News, she was responsible for digital convergence, online content and multimedia. Over the years at the Mercury News and the Miami Herald, she has directed business and features coverage and edited the Sunday magazine. She also has held senior positions at a number of magazines, including managing editor of Mother Jones. Katharine received a leadership award from the Asian American Journalists Association in 2007; was a McCormick Tribune fellow in 2005; and has a master’s degree in classical archaeology. She lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband and two daughters
