Kourtney Geers has served as managing editor of Denver Business Journal since June 2018. She oversees newsroom operations, including the flow of news across print, mobile, email and social platforms, with a heavy focus on digital presentation and providing businesses valuable perspective on everything from real estate to energy news.
Prior to joining the DBJ, Kourtney was the director of digital news production at The Denver Post, managing a team of producers and leading the newsroom’s efforts in digital storytelling. There, she guided long-term online strategy, quality control and expansion of The Post’s audience.
Before coming to Colorado more than four years ago, Kourtney held roles at Politico in Washington, D.C., and at the Pulitzer Prize-winning Patriot-News/PennLive.com in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
Kourtney grew up in the suburbs of Kansas City before crossing state lines to attend the University of Missouri, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism, with minors in multicultural studies and political science. She now lives in Denver’s Uptown neighborhood and enjoys traveling and skiing.
