Louise is Insider’s first features editor outside of the US and also its first part-time editorial employee. Before this, she was a senior journalist at BBC Newsbeat. She is an award-winning editor with a track record in innovation. As the first longform editor at BuzzFeed UK, her commissions were longlisted for The Orwell Prize and shortlisted for the British Journalism Awards. She devised an animated comic about Brexit which was shortlisted for a Design Week Award, and a Choose Your Own Adventure game showing the difficulty of travelling for wheelchair users. It was used by an EU initiative to teach cities to be more accessible. As an editor at HuffPost, her series on transgender rights was praised in the UK Parliament for “holding the government to account”. She was special projects editor for the ‘HuffPost Listens’ series which was shortlisted for editorial innovation of the year at the Online Media Awards.
