Mary Freda is a senior news journalism and Spanish major at Ball State University. Previously, she served as assistant news editor and later the chief crime reporter for The Ball State Daily News — the university’s independent student newspaper.
In 2018, Freda was one of 10 students selected to participate in Hoosier State Press Association Eugene S. Pulliam Internship Program, where she was assigned to work at The Star Press in Muncie, Ind., as a general assignment, news reporter.
Currently, Freda works as a stringer reporter for The Star Press and The Commercial Review in Portland, Ind. Additionally, she serves as a fact checker for Ball Bearings Magazine at Ball State University. When she’s not in the newsroom, Freda enjoys finding a good cup of coffee and traveling.
