Megan Merrigan is the director of audience engagement at the Hartford Courant, where she works alongside reporters, editors, photographers and producers to find the best, most innovative ways to tell Connecticut’s stories. She leads the team responsible for the newspaper’s digital initiatives, including newsletters, podcasts, social distribution and interactive projects. Outside of the newsroom, Megan has spearheaded the organization’s community outreach efforts through live events, focus groups and a pop-up newsroom series. In her role at the Courant, Megan has prioritized building and maintaining relationships with community members in an effort to facilitate meaningful conversations and diversify the voices featured in the Courant’s coverage.
