Norbert Schwarz (Dr. phil., Universität Mannheim, Germany, 1980) is Provost Professor of Psychology and Marketing and co-director of the Mind & Society Center at the University of Southern California. He investigates the context-sensitivity of judgment and decision-making and its implications for public opinion and consumer behavior. He has been elected to the German National Academy of Sciences, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and the Academia Europaea, and received scientific contribution awards from the American Psychological Association, German Psychological Association, Society for Consumer Psychology, Society for Experimental Social Psychology, and Society for Personality and Social Psychology, among others. A bibliometric analysis lists him among the 0.1% most frequently cited scientists across all fields in the Scopus database, 1997-2017 (Ioannidis et al., 2019).
