Ronny Rojas is an investigative journalist. He currently works as senior editor for the newly launched Centro Latinoamericano de Investigación Periodística. He just completed the John S. Knight journalism fellowship at Stanford University, where he’s been exploring ideas to create a collaborative network of journalists to do more investigative reporting on immigration. Prior to Stanford, Rojas worked as Data and Investigations editor for Univision Noticias Digital in Miami. He has spent much of his career working on complex cross-border collaborative projects with media organizations in the United States and Latin America.
His work has been recognized with numerous awards, including a national Emmy for outstanding feature story in Spanish, the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award, the 2017 Ortega y Gasset Journalism Award from the Spanish daily El País, the 2015 Global Shining Light Award, after a five-month cross-border collaborative investigation on cigarette smuggling in South America.
