I am a rising Senior at Howard University pursing a Bachelors of Arts in Media, Journalism, and Film with a concentration in Journalism and a minor in African-American Studies. With my degree, I hope to become primetime news anchor or an executive producer to improve the diversity of the media world. I think it is important that media is composed of a diverse group of people so that everyone’s voice is heard and represented. I ultimately want to start my own television network that focuses on changing the single story narratives of Africans and African-Americans. While at Howard, I have had the pleasure of becoming a member of Jewels, Incorporated, which is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that mentors over 80 girls in the Washington, D.C. area. This year I serve as a sports reporter for Howard University’s student-operated newspaper, The Hilltop. I am also a volunteer at Howard University’s student-operated radio station, WHBC 96.3 HD3. At the radio station I am a member of both the Promotions and Digital Content departments. I am currently a Digital Editorial Intern at NBC Sports Group Headquarters in Stamford, CT. As a Digital Intern I am responsible for writing SEO titles and descriptions for all video content on NBCsports.com.
