Dr. Wendy Wyatt is professor and chair of the Department of Communication and Journalism at the University of St. Thomas, Minnesota, where she has taught the capstone media ethics course for 12 years. Much of her research focuses on issues of media and democracy, and she has particular interests in journalism ethics, citizen responsibilities to the media and media literacy. Wyatt is the author or editor of three books on media ethics, and her work has appeared in several journals and edited volumes. Wyatt is also a member of the team that developed the ONA “Build Your Own Ethics Code” project. She holds a Ph.D. in communication from the University of Oregon, a master’s degree in philosophy from the University of Montana and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Colorado State University.
