Presented at ONA18

More from this event →

Much more than a shiny, new toy for photographers and videographers, drones are an innovative, increasingly popular storytelling tool that journalists and newsrooms are using in a wide variety of ways to expand, augment and supplement traditional writing and reporting.

We’ll have a sample drone on hand to look at, and cover drone use for journalism. We’ll also touch on the minimum requirements needed to pass the commercial drone exam.

This session is designed for:

  • Newsrooms looking to learn more about the basics of adding drone technology to your toolbox
  • Drone-curious journalists looking to expand their storytelling capacity
  • Anyone who would like to know the basics of the drone pilots exam

  • Speakers

    Dale Blasingame
Assistant Professor of Practice, Texas State University
    Sara Shields
Digital Content Manager, True Grit Management and Talent
    Social Conversation
