Existential Disruption 2.0: Enemies of the People

Presented at ONA18
September 12, 2018
More from this event →

In the fallout of generational change wrought by the digital revolution, public understanding of journalism’s purpose is shifting. A second existential threat, filling the void left by disappearing local newspapers and broadcast stations, is the growth and popularity of politically charged indie outlets. What does it mean to face this reality? And what should we be doing differently?

This session is designed for:

  • Journalists interested confronting and reversing post-fact propaganda
  • Newsrooms that want to be a part of building an alternate future for the free press
  • Anyone concerned about our future ability to collect, synthesize and distribute information
